Venue: Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh
UnEarthed. Explore the world at your feet
NERC's window on the science that is tackling all kinds of questions relating to life on Earth: How can we generate energy for the future? How do we look after our coastlines? Can we make the air we breathe better for us? Can we make natural disasters less disastrous? What can we do to get more food out of the same soil? The showcase runs from Fri 17 to Sun 19 November and is free to attend. All details here.
SCCS will be there on Saturday 18 November to show visitors what carbon capture and storage (CCS) is all about. And we mean "show" as we'll have an amazing virtual reality CCS experience, courtesy of Shell. We'll also be describing some of the exciting CCS research under way in Scotland and across Europe as part of global moves to rein in carbon emissions.
The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) funds scientific research to inform the choices we make as individuals, as governments and all the way to the United Nations.
