This is the second in a series of webinars from the ALIGN-CCUS project, an international partnership of science and industry – funded by the European Union’s ERA-NET Accelerating CCS Technologies fund – to support the transformation of Europe’s industrial regions into economically robust, low-carbon centres by 2025.
This webinar will provide an overview of current and planned activities in Work Package 4, which combines an industrial-scale carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) pilot demonstration with applied research to gain insights into the technical, economic and environmental attributes of fuel synthesis using captured CO2. As a global, first-of-a-kind project, ALIGN-CCUS will build and test a fully integrated CCU chain at pilot scale in a real industrial environment.
The webinar will feature short presentations by WP4 leader, Dr Peter Moser of RWE, and other members of the WP4 research team, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Topics that will be covered include:
- Introduction to WP4 and the case for CCU
- The development of the CCU demonstrator
- Engine adaptation needs for operation with CCU derived fuels
- Integration and scale up of CCU technology

Please note that the start and end time is Central European Summer Time (CEST)
