The microwave swing adsorption system consists of a microwave generator, two glass columns for CO₂ adsorption and adsorbents regeneration under microwave irradiation, CO₂ gas control and measurement, N₂, SOₓ and NOₓ gases control and measurement, water vapour generation and control, temperature control and temperature monitoring.

The microwave generator allows the control of both power and frequency delivered to the regeneration column. The microwave system can be used for the regeneration of various adsorptions, and the study of any dielectric heating.

  • Carbon capture adsorbent microwave regeneration test rig
  • CO₂ and N₂, SOₓ, NOₓ gases control and measurement, water vapour generation and control, temperature control and temperature monitoring
  • Study on CO₂ Storage at Pore Scale funded by the Royal Society
  • Transport of reservoir fluids and gas in porous media for enhanced oil recovery and CO₂ storage funded by the Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland
