Two Dual Piston Pressure/Vacuum Swing Adsorption (PSA/VSA) rigs have been designed in-house. The DP-PSA is a unique apparatus that allows for testing of rapid adsorption cycles up to 1.5 Hz. The closed system allows for testing of samples in gram quantities with different gas mixtures, avoiding the use of large amounts of costly gases. The systems can go from vacuum to up to 20 and 60 bar and 200°C and are completely automated and controlled by a NI compact Rio computer with a Labview interface. As the rigs can operate at both vacuum and high pressure, both pre-combustion and post-combustion capture conditions can be achieved.
