The researchers were presented with their awards – a glass trophy and a cheque for £500 – by Scotland’s Energy Minister, Mr Fergus Ewing, who highlighted in his speech the importance of early career researchers, such as the six winners, to the future of Scotland’s energy industries.
Dr Roberts scooped the Energy, Infrastructure and Society award, while Dr Xuan won the Energy Materials and Storage category. Read the special event report.
The Heriot-Watt Scottish Energy News Researchers of the Year Awards aim to celebrate the breadth of energy and energy-related research being undertaken by early career researchers and young companies across Scotland.
