With one full-chain carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in the north-east of Scotland making headlines, and encouraging CCS developments elsewhere in the UK, now is the time to explore what that means for businesses and other stakeholders.

There will be progress reports from both of the full-chain CCS projects that recently secured design funding from the UK Government – namely, White Rose and Peterhead. You can also find out more about carbon economics, the nuts and bolts of CCS network development, and opportunities for industrial CCS in Scotland. The sessions will be chaired by Prof Jeff Chapman (CCSA) and Prof Stuart Haszeldine (SCCS Director), who will also explore the role of fossil fuel taxes in supporting CO₂ storage in the North Sea basin.

The All-Energy exhibition and conference, which is free to attend, showcases a huge range of renewable energy and low-carbon technologies and attracts around 8,000 visitors from across the world.

If you’re keen to develop research collaborations or joint industry projects, or want to find out how your business can get involved in the CCS supply chain, Business Development Executives from SCCS will be on hand to explain how to access funding and support – including funding and advice through the Energy Technology Partnership (ETP)

Talk to SCCS at All-Energy 2014

To book a meeting, email SCCS Project Manager, Dr Philippa Parmiter or visit us at the ETP stand (G59):

Day 1Day 2
9.30-10.45 11.00-12.00
16.00-17.00 14.00-15.00

You can also get in touch with SCCS via the All-Energy website

Dr Philippa Parmiter said:

“This year’s CCS line-up for the conference has been described by the organisers as a ‘dream team’. We’ll be just down the road from Peterhead, which could become the world’s first large-scale CCS project at a gas-fired power plant. And there are other developments under way, including White Rose. All-Energy is the ideal opportunity for businesses and technology providers to come and talk to us about how they can get involved in CCS, both now and in the future.”
