There are currently *26 projects around the world, capturing about 40 million tonnes of CO2 every year, with another 38 initiatives in the pipeline. The pioneers of CCS include Norway's Sleipner and Snøhvit CCS projects on natural gas production. Other projects capture CO2 from different sources, such as steel or fertiliser production. Across Europe, industries and governments are working with research agencies to develop and deliver cost-effective CCUS at the scale we will need to meet the climate challenge. Click on the links below to travel the world of CCUS – from operational and in-development projects to cutting-edge research and innovation.
